Chevron is committed to making social investments in the Richmond, CA and West Contra Costa County area. Our goal is to be recognized as an important partner to the community by improving the quality of life for Richmond/West County residents through expanding opportunities for youth, education and economic development.
The primary objectives of our social investment programs are to:
- Contribute to improving public safety by supporting impactful intervention programs to at-risk youth;
- Expand access to high-quality education, with a focus on working with the West Contra Costa Unified School District to reinforce core academic skills and build leadership capacity; and
- Increase and sustain community economic viability through comprehensive services that improve family self-sufficiency and help small businesses create and sustain jobs.
We also support programs that help contribute to Richmond’s social safety net and strengthen civic engagement.
Chevron focuses on funding organizations that demonstrate results, allowing our contributions to have a greater impact in the community. We also encourage collaboration, as we believe that the challenges facing Richmond and West County can best be met when we work together. Over the last three year, Chevron contributed more than $10.6 million to organizations in Richmond and West Contra Costa County.
