About Chevron Richmond
From providing high skill jobs that pay competitive wages, to supporting local businesses and non-profit organizations, to paying taxes that fund essential public services, Chevron has been an important part of the Richmond community for more than 114 years.
Chevron plays an important role driving economic growth in Richmond. We are the largest employer in Richmond providing jobs for 3,800 employees and contractors at our facilities in Richmond. Since 2012, we have invested nearly $600 million helping grow the local economy, training workers and educating students to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
We are Richmond’s largest taxpayer and our local operations provide significant tax revenue to the City of Richmond and West Contra Costa Unified School District helping fund essential services such as public safety, schools, libraries and youth services.
The City of Richmond and Chevron have a proud heritage and, together, we have a bright future. We are dedicated to helping Richmond reach its greatest potential by making investments to modernize our refinery, helping to improve Richmond schools and creating career-building opportunities for local residents.
